Sarasota Shopping
You certainly can't make a bad choice when it comes to selecting a shopping venue to peruse through in Sarasota and its surrounding communities. Main
Street, Palm Avenue at Lower Main Street, Burns Court at Towles
Court, and Third Street South are established Downtown
shopping
districts notorious for their fantastic boutiques, shops and
restaurants. To continue enjoying boundless hours of shopping and dining, we suggest strolling through Midtown Plaza (U.S. 41 at Bahia Vista Street), Rosemary District (Central Avenue off Fruitville Road) and Southside Village (Osprey Avenue between Siesta Drive and Bahia Vista Street). They're all wonderful shopping districts to enjoy. The Westfield Sarasota Square Mall and its sister property, the Westfield Southgate Plaza, are the only premier indoor traditional-type malls in Sarasota. Both malls offer an extensive list of great shops, stores, eateries and services and are just a few miles apart on South Tamiami Trail. At the Westfield Sarasota Square Mall, you'll find Dillard's, JCPenny, Macy's, and Sears department stores. Other shops include: American Eagle Outfitters, Gap, Hollister Co., Jos. A. Bank, New York & Co., and Pacific Sunwear. Ruby Tuesday's is also at the Westfield Sarasota Square Mall, along with a food court that has counter service selections such as Chick-fil-A, Hibachi San, Sbarro and Subway. Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Coach, Gap, Pottery Barn, LensCrafters, and Victoria's Secret, along with Dillard's, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue department stores, are just part of the offerings at the Westfield Southgate Plaza. Places to dine at Westfield Southgate Plaza include Cosimo's Brick Oven, the Mandarin Inn and TooJay's Original Gourmet Deli. Sarasota Pavilion, located on South Tamiami Trail at Stickney Point Road, is another select shopping site. Bed, Bath and Beyond, Lane Bryant, Marshalls, New Balance, Old Navy, Panera Bread and Ross are just some of the places to shop and eat at Sarasota Pavilion. For those looking for more of an upscale shopping experience, visit St. Armands Circle, just West of Downtown. St. Armands is charming, sophisticated and boasts some of the top restaurants in Sarasota you can enjoy while sauntering around the Circle. Heading North of Sarasota, bargain Hunters will rejoice at the amazing deals to be had at the Prime Outlets off I-75 in Ellenton. The Prime Outlets has more than 100 top designers and brand name outlets, like J. Crew, Juicy Couture, Kenneth Cole, Polo Ralph Lauren, Nike, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and White House/Black Market. You can also grab a bite to eat at Bourbon Street BBQ, Lozano's Mexican Express, Villa Pizza and Wok Master. Further
North of the Prime Outlets, there are a few additional shopping
destinations we
recommend. Roughly 65 miles from Sarasota, there's the
International Plaza/Bay Street and WestShore
Plaza in Tampa, two beautiful indoor malls that are definitely worth
the trip
from wherever you are in Sarasota County. While in Tampa, you might
want to also stop by ever-popular Hyde Park, Channelside and Ybor City
parts of town. The
Sarasota area is truly a shopper's paradise, and we hope you enjoy
spending time at
what we believe to be the top area shopping locations detailed on this
page.
