Activities for Kids
For those families who reside in Sarasota or are coming here for vacation, you may not have a game plan to keep your children occupied. Don't worry; there are plenty of activities throughout the region that were made just for kids, teenagers and adults who are young at heart. One popular place right off the bat is Livingston's Amusement Center. This place is loaded with liveliness. Laser Tag, Go Carts, Arcade Games, Rock Climbing, Billiards. You get the idea. Forget about that windmill, there's the more challenging and fun Smuggler's Cove for the best in miniature golf. Don't worry, the pirates who wander about won't make your children walk the plank if they don't get a hole in one. Do
your kids need to be cooled off? If so, take them to
the
Children's Fountain at Bayfront Park at the Downtown
Marina.
They'll have a splash there, and then some. To educate and fascinate your children at the same time, there are quite a few places in the Sarasota area to take them to. Try the Big Cat Habitat & Gulf Coast Sanctuary and Sarasota-Bradenton Children's Zoo to introduce them to the various creatures of the world. To explore the beauty of our natural surroundings, try the Children's Garden, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Sarasota Jungle Gardens and Myakka River State Park. There's also the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium if sea life is their thing. You may also consider taking your children to the always-exciting Circus Sarasota, for a grand time under the big tent. A great out-of-town trip that your kids would absolutely love is to the world famous Busch Gardens/SeaWorld in Tampa. If these ideas don't appeal to your children or if they already had a great time at them but are looking for more fun things to do, there are always the kid-friendly options of the area Beaches and Malls. You can even take them to any of the Sarasota County Libraries to occupy their time and minds. It's
also worth noting that many of the hotels and resorts in Sarasota have
kids programs, so if you're planning a trip here, look
into the activities that cater to children beforehand. Whatever
kind of fun your kids end up having, you'll have the piece of
mind
in
knowing you kept them active,
entertained and away from
being bored. We're sure you'll agree that's a
major accomplishment for any parent!
